Rise Up always felt like an anthem for the caricature of Canada that Toronto always seemed to paint.
The Headpins also had a great rocking song "Turn It Loud" that is almost more infectious for driving. You guys might not know about a Telethon that is held in Saskatchewan every year to benefit people with disabilities that is only second to Jerry Lewis' in money raising per capita but it's held over 20 hours and it always has a band as well as lots of local "talent" and B to D list Canadian (mostly Saskatchewan) celebrities as hosts/presenters. Well over the years, these bands have performed: 2015 - Headpins, 2014-Harlequin, 2013-Prism, 2012-Honeymoon Suite, 2011-Streetheart, 2010-Northen Pikes. Alannah Myles was in 2005 and there's far too many to list. It's like a veritable who's who of Canned Con Cast cause I know you guys are gonna cover my all-time favourite band (being as they're also from Sask) Streetheart sooner or later. Even though the 2 songs of their's that I like the most are both covers (Tin Soldier & Under My Thumb) they have a whole bunch of hits to choose from. Now I can't wait to hear who you guy's are gonna do next.
Steve, thanks for catching up with the past eps. Hope to record a new one early next week! Streetheart will definitely appear on an upcoming show. I think the recorded Straight from the Heart by Bryan Adams before he did, didn't they?
