For me, the seminal Doug and the Slugs song is "Day by Day" - was that not getting airplay in Ontario?

It did get some play. Nowhere near as much as Making it Work and Too Bad.

I'm just discovering this podcast. Of course hearing these songs takes me straight back to my youth. Kind of wierd how both groups in this episode have lost their lead singers. And Doug and the Slugs' song "Too Bad" was the theme song for Norm MacDonald's TV show "Norm" so Americans were exposed to them in the 90's at the very least.
