The Green Party is typically left on social issues, right on fiscal issues. We want smaller government and fewer subsidies on shit. You'll also notice on that chart that the Green Party has more self-identified right wingers than any other party behind the Conservatives. This does not surprise me in the least. The reason we have so many self-identified left wingers is because we have a reputation of being a bunch of tree-hugging hippies so they flock to us. It makes our AGMs and member driven policies really chaotic.
Well I always vote NDP and I consider myself pretty Left. I am for government owned utilities, free health care, unions and publicly funded social programs as well as a well funded public broadcaster.
