I really enjoyed tracks 4 (More Fool Me) and 7 (The Cinema Show). I listened to the whole thing and kept thinking about early Chicago and how that band slowly became a pop band thanks to Peter Cetera until he left and compare that to Phil's non-Genesis career. It's interesting to see how the prog got left behind, I guess, in the pursuit of $$$$$, not that there is anything wrong with that. I guess Peter Gabriel 'conformed' the least over the years, eh?
Will look forward to expounding upon this album next episode. You get a virtual sticker for doing your homework Jason.
I commented earlier... don't know what happened to it.... maybe I never actually pressed the button.... Anyway, I have listened to it many times now at work with headphones on... loud. I love this album. I had only really ever listened to the Collins era of Genesis, I suppose. I love this album and, even more, especially right now, I am loving The Lamb Goes Down on Broadway. Wow! Especicially, the title track and Back in NYC and I haven't even finished the album yet.... so much Proggy goodness. Only a little bit of a Spinal Tap taste in my mouth.
Smell the glove Doug.
