I was lucky enough to see Helix open for Kim Mitchell on New Year's Eve in 1984. They played the lovely Brantford Civic Centre, which enjoyed its 1980s heyday as one of the places the then-WWF recorded wrestling shows. I remember the Civic Centre being half-full for the concert and Helix having very little stage space to work in. That didn't stop Brian Vollmer from doing his signature move: doing a somersault off the drum riser and onto the stage. Fun fact? Greg "Fritz" Hinz's cousin was a housecleaner who came by to dust and vacuum my parent's house and teenaged me thought that was very cool. Want to know what Fritz is up to these days aside from touring? http://m.brantnews.com/whatson-story/5747321-ro...
